Sarah from Empress Moth in Victoria, Australia dyes our Thank You Mother clothing range with non-toxic botanical plant dyes.
The colours are created with the following ingredients:
Pinot = Madder Root
Mushroom = Cutch (acacia tree), Iron
Deep Space = Madder Root, Oak Gall, Iron
Charcoal = Cutch (acacia tree), Oak Gall, Iron
Olive = Onion, Oak Gall
Sarah has developed several different techniques over the years in dyeing, printing and pigment extraction. She uses variations of botanical printing, natural dyeing, cold bath dyeing, and a few other techniques of her own invention.The plant dyeing process involves mordanting the hemp cloth with a self developed natural recipe, then dipping the garments into pre-prepared dye vats.

Machine washable. Cold, gentle machine wash. Dry out of the sun to avoid fading. Warm iron.
